Freelancing Masterclass: Earn from Home

Complete guide to starting a freelance career on Fiverr, Upwork & direct clients — from zero to ₹1L/month

2 weeks Beginner 3 Sections +75 XP
1

Week 1: Choose Your Skill & Setup

Section 1 of 3
1.1

Pick ONE skill to sell: writing, graphic design, video editing, web development, data entry, social media management, or translation.

1.2

Create accounts on Fiverr + Upwork. Use a professional photo. Write a bio that focuses on what you can DO for clients, not your life story.

1.3

Create 3 sample works (portfolio pieces). For writing: write 3 blog posts. For design: create 3 social media templates. For coding: build 3 small projects.

1.4

Set your initial price LOW (₹500-2000 per project). Your goal is to get your first 5 reviews. After that, raise prices gradually.

Practice Exercise

Create your Fiverr profile today. Write 3 gig descriptions. Publish them. Share the links with 5 friends for feedback.

Week 2: Get Your First Clients

Section 2 of 3
2.1

On Upwork: Send 10 proposals daily. Personalize each one — mention something specific about the client's project. Never copy-paste.

2.2

On Fiverr: Optimize gig titles with keywords clients search for. "I will design a professional logo" beats "Graphic design services".

2.3

Respond to messages within 1 hour. Fast response = higher ranking on platforms. Set up mobile notifications.

2.4

Deliver EARLY and OVER-deliver. If they ask for 3 designs, give 5. First impressions create repeat clients and referrals.

3

Scaling to ₹50K-1L/month

Section 3 of 3
3.1

After 10+ reviews, raise your prices by 50-100%. Clients pay for trust, not just skill. Good reviews = higher prices.

3.2

Move clients OFF platforms to direct payment (after building trust). You keep 100% instead of losing 20% to platform fees.

3.3

Build a simple portfolio website (free on Carrd.co or WordPress). Share it on LinkedIn. Recruiters find freelancers on LinkedIn.

3.4

Specialize: "I design logos for restaurants" pays more than "I do graphic design". Niche down = charge more.
