Is a Career Switch Right for You?

Section 1 of 3
1.1

Ask yourself: Am I unhappy with the WORK or the WORKPLACE? Changing companies is easier than changing careers. Be honest.

1.2

Good reasons to switch: Genuine interest in new field, better long-term prospects, health/lifestyle needs, passion project becoming viable.

1.3

Bad reasons: "My friend earns more", "I saw a viral LinkedIn post", "I'm bored this week". Grass always looks greener.

1.4

Reality check: Career switches take 6-18 months. You'll likely take a pay cut initially. But if the new career excites you, it's worth it.

Practice Exercise

Write down: What do you LOVE doing? What are you GOOD at? What does the world NEED? What can you be PAID for? The intersection is your ideal career.
